Filipina Singles Scene

 

The Philippines is a great place to go and drop out of society for awhile.  Perhaps you are divorced or recently separated.  Or you just want a change of pace in life.  Regardless, cities like Manila offer great value.  And if you are single, the Filipina singles scene is definitely worthwhile checking out while you make the country your temporary (or semi-permanent home).

This is why living in the Philippines is so attractive –

Rentals – Stay awhile in the Philippines and you are going to want to have your own place.  You might enjoy bringing back a Filipino girl to a hotel room for a short while, but spend any time of the Filipina singles scene and you are going to want to your own place after a while to feel like home.

The good news is that rentals in this country are cheap by western standards.   Just like any country, rental prices will vary from place to place.  The highest rents are in the capital city of Metro Manila and surrounding cities such as Makati City (Manila is actually a group of merged cities) being a little bit cheaper.  Don’t worry though, rents are dirt cheap compared to New York or London.   Starting at the medium to high end for a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment will cost around $1000 per month fully furnished.  A place like this will also have a maids room if you want to hire live in help.

Want something cheaper?  There will certainly be something to match your budget.  You can easily go down to $100 USD per month (about 4000 P) for something that is basic and clean.  If you are on a budget though, aim for about $500 USD per month for something that is nice, cheap and will still impress your girlfriend.  As indicated before, most places are furnished.  If you want to decorate yourself, $3000 is plenty to fill your home with some great furniture.

Food – Pick up a beautiful woman on the Filipina singles scene and you are going to want to take her out for dinner.  Food in the Philippines is CHEAP.  Even if you went out every night, you are going to find it difficult to burn through more than a few hundred dollars a month.  A nice dinner for two in Makati near the Stock Exchange will cost only about $50 – and that is if you take her and her entire extended family as well.  Dinner for one under $8 is common (and that is with a waiter and sit down service, not a takeaway).

Getting Around – Driving in the Philippines is organized chaos.  It is best left to the professionals who understand these roads.  The good news is that westerners pay basically what the locals pay.  The minimum fare in a Jeepney is about 0.18 in Metro Manila areas and $ 0.13 USD outside Metro Manila plus $0.011 per kilometer.

Want a taxi instead?  Go to somewhere like Cebu and a cab will charge a fixed fee of $0.68 USD when you get in and $ 0.057 for every kilometer.

Filipina Singles Scene  – Where to pick up women?  The answer is everywhere. The Filipina singles scene is all around you.  Make eye contact with a pretty girl and if she is single, she might strike up a conversation with you.  I was actually told once on a business trip by a local female colleague not to give any woman on the street extended eye contact as it might give them the wrong idea.  Trust me on this one – try it out ?
